Genotoxic stress leads to DNA damage which can be detrimental to the cell. A well-orchestrated cellular response is mounted to manage and repair the genotoxic stress-induced DNA damage. Our understanding of genotoxic stress response is derived mainly from studies focused on transcription, mRNA splicing, and protein turnover. Surprisingly not as much is understood about the role of mRNA translation and decay in genotoxic stress response. This is despite the fact that regulation of gene expression at the level of mRNA translation and decay plays a critical role in a myriad of cellular processes. This review aims to summarize some of the known findings of the role of mRNA translation and decay by focusing on two categories of examples. We discuss examples of mRNA whose fates are regulated in the cytoplasm and RNA-binding proteins that regulate mRNA fates in response to genotoxic stress. To develop an end-to-end deep learning technique for nonrigid motion-corrected (MoCo) reconstruction of ninefold undersampled free-breathing whole-heart coronary MRA (CMRA). A novel deep learning framework was developed consisting of a diffeomorphic registration network and a motion-informed model-based deep learning (MoDL) reconstruction network. The registration network receives as input highly undersampled (~22×) respiratory-resolved images and outputs 3D nonrigid respiratory motion fields between the images. The motion-informed MoDL performs MoCo reconstruction from undersampled data using the predicted motion fields. The whole deep learning framework, termed as MoCo-MoDL, was trained end-to-end in a supervised manner for simultaneous 3D nonrigid motion estimation and MoCo reconstruction. MoCo-MoDL was compared with a state-of-the-art nonrigid MoCo CMRA reconstruction technique in 15 retrospectively undersampled datasets and 9 prospectively undersampled acquisitions. The acquisition time for ninefolr with the fast reconstruction of the proposed approach promises easy integration into clinical workflow.The aim was to investigate the objective and choice of different radiographic examinations used in orthodontic treatment of children and adolescents, using a web-based questionnaire directed toward specialists in orthodontics. Local- or clinic-specific guidelines were used by 85% of respondents. The need for national guidelines was considered low. The frequent use of panoramic radiography together with application of local guidelines, may indicate that radiographic selection criteria are not individualised. We designed an ad-hoc questionnaire exploring four areas (i) staff management; (ii) logistics and supplies; (iii) COVID-19 diagnosis and clinical management; (iv) communication. Overall, the hospital response was evaluated as effective and sufficiently prompt. Participants stressed the relevance of (i) strong governance and coordination; (ii) readiness and availability of healthcare personnel; (iii) definition of a model of care based on a multidisciplinary approach. Challenges were reported for communication management and staff training.
