NCM460, a normal colon-derived cell line) indicates that the compounds have some inherent selectivity. Further studies on the SW480 cell line demonstrated that the compounds induce cell death by apoptosis, inhibit proliferation by inhibiting the formation of colonies, and affect the actin-cytoskeleton of the cells. These results are not observed for the hydroxylated compounds 2 and 3, where an alternative mode of action might be present. Overall, the results indicate that the substituent at the nitrile-based ligand is associated to the biological activity of the compounds. With the growth of the number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, a wide range of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) will be deployed for various applications. In general, WSNs are constrained by limitations in spectrum and energy resources. In order to circumvent these technical challenges, we propose a novel cooperative phase-steering (CPS) technique with a simple on-off power control for generic spectrum sharing-based WSNs, which consists of a single secondary source (SS) node, multiple secondary relay (SR) nodes, a single secondary destination (SD) node, and multiple primary destination (PD) nodes. In the proposed technique, each SR node that succeeds in packet decoding from the SS and for which its interference power to the PD nodes is lower than a certain threshold is allowed to transmit the signal to the SD node. All SR nodes that are allowed to transmit signals to the SD node adjust the phase of their transmit signal such that the phase of received signals at the SD node from the SR nodes is aligned to a certain angle. Moreover, we mathematically analyze the outage probability of the proposed scheme. Our analytical and simulation results show that the proposed technique outperforms the conventional cooperative relaying schemes in terms of outage probability. Through extensive computer simulations, it is shown that the analytical results match well with the simulated outage probability as a lower bound. The purpose of this Special Issue is to introduce and demonstrate the importance of daily travel in elderly people's lives [...].The authors wish to make the following correction to their paper published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health [...].BACKGROUND Hepatitis B still represents a health concern, although safe and effectivevaccines have been available since 1982. Italy introduced a program of universal vaccination againsthepatitis B in 1991. The aim of this study was to assess the immunity levels towards hepatitis B in asample of sera from the pediatric and adolescent population in the province of Florence, CentralItaly, twenty-seven years after the implementation of universal vaccination. METHODS A total of 165sera samples were collected from the resident population of Florence aged 1-18 years. The anti-HBsand anti-HBc enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) tests were performed on all samples. The anamnestic and vaccination status data were also collected. RESULTS Seroprevalence of anti-HBswas approximately 60%, with children aged 1-5 years having the highest positivity rate (81.6%),and decreasing trends in the older age groups. The zero prevalence of anti-HBc shows that thedetected protective immunity is mainly due to vaccination, and natural infection was not reportedin the studied population. Adagrasib CONCLUSIONS The seroprevalence of anti-HBs and the lack of anti-HBc inthis study highlights that immunity levels have been derived mainly from immunization. Thisconfirms how vaccination dramatically reduced circulation of the hepatitis B virus in Italy in thepediatric and adolescent population twenty-seven years after implementation of the mandatoryuniversal program. The paper presented the methodology for the construction of a soft sensor used for activated sludge bulking identification. Devising such solutions fits within the current trends and development of a smart system and infrastructure within smart cities. In order to optimize the selection of the data-mining method depending on the data collected within a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), a number of methods were considered, including artificial neural networks, support vector machines, random forests, boosted trees, and logistic regression. The analysis conducted sought the combinations of independent variables for which the devised soft sensor is characterized with high accuracy and at a relatively low cost of determination. With the measurement results pertaining to the quantity and quality of wastewater as well as the temperature in the activated sludge chambers, a good fit can be achieved with the boosted trees method. In order to simplify the selection of an optimal method for the identification of activated sludge bulking depending on the model requirements and the data collected within the WWTP, an original system of weight estimation was proposed, enabling a reduction in the number of independent variables in a model-quantity and quality of wastewater, operational parameters, and the cost of conducting measurements. This paper describes the development process of the quadcopter-based unmanned flying platform, designed for testing and experimentation purposes. The project features custom-made hardware, which includes the prototype quadcopter frame and the flight controller, and software solutions, such as control loop setup. The article specifies the controller tuning used for the initialization of the flight stabilization system and presents the final results of the quadcopter performance evaluation. The automatic detection of gait events (i.e., Initial Contact (IC) and Final Contact (FC)) is crucial for the characterisation of gait from Inertial Measurements Units. In this article, we present a method for detecting steps (i.e., IC and FC) from signals of gait sequences of individuals recorded with a gyrometer. The proposed approach combines the use of a dictionary of templates and a Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) measure of fit to retrieve these templates into input signals. Several strategies for choosing and learning the adequate templates from annotated data are also described. The method is tested on thirteen healthy subjects and compared to gold standard. Depending of the template choice, the proposed algorithm achieves average errors from 0.01 to 0.03 s for the detection of IC, FC and step duration. Results demonstrate that the use of DTW allows achieving these performances with only one single template. DTW is a convenient tool to perform pattern recognition on gait gyrometer signals. This study paves the way for new step detection methods it shows that using one single template associated with non-linear deformations may be sufficient to model the gait of healthy subjects.
