Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is regarded as a potential source for transmission of from urban areas into the surface water, through feces of human and animals. The aim of this study was to screen and characterize the bacteria in inlet and outlet wastewater of different WWTPs in Tehran, Iran. Totally, 72 samples were collected from three different WWTPs (inlet site and outlet sites) during a year. was isolated and characterized in terms of toxins, toxinotype, resistance profile and genes, and colonization factors using PCR. One toxinotype V was isolated from the outlet samples. The isolate was susceptible to vancomycin but resistant to metronidazole, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, and moxifloxacin using MIC Test Strips. The isolated was toxigenic ( , , , positive and CPE positive) and had genotype. No mutations were found in and . The sequence type was 078 - 01. The was positive for , , but negative for , , and genes. Mutations were not observed in and genes. This study provided evidence of presence of a multidrug-resistant toxinotype V in one of the municipal WWTP. There were significant differences among the mean urinary concentrations of DHBMA in pre-shift samples of policemen, gas station workers and occupationally non-exposed persons. The mean urinary concentrations of DHBMA differed significantly among post-shift samples of policemen and gas station (ANOVA p < 0.05 and Kruskal-Wallis test p < 0.05). Air particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of 10µm or less (PM ) is one of the main causes of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). This study explored the relationship between PM by remote sensing and AECOPD in Chaharmahal-o-Bakhtiari province from 2014 to2018. PM concentrations were predicted and validated based on aerosol optical depth (AOD) from 161 images processed by MODIS sensor and ground air quality monitoring station data. Demographic information and spirometric indices of 2038 patients with AECOPD were collected and analyzed from the hospital during the studied periods. SPSS software was used to analyze the relationships between these two categories of information. The objectives of this study were to monitor the levels of asbestos fibers in ambient air of Mashhad, Iran during 2018, and to draw its Geographic Information System (GIS) distribution map for the city. In this descriptive study, 13 sampling points in Mashhad city were chosen. Sampling of asbestos was carried out for 3 hour during summer and winter at 2018. Sampling of asbestos was performed using MCE (Mixed Cellulose Ester) membrane filters (pour size 0.45 µm; diameter 25 mm) and cassette holder and peripheral pump. The samples were the analyzed by the phase contrast microscopy (PCM) method (NIOSH7400). Also, to investigate the type of asbestos and for more accurate counting of fibers, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis was utilized.
