The impact this feedback has on the structure of the stride interval dynamics-a barometer of gait system health-however, have yet to be examined. This study was designed to assess how feedback, used to alter lower-extremity loading during gait, affects the structure of stride interval variability by examining long-range stride-to-stride correlations during gait in those with unilateral ACLR. Twelve participants walked under three separate loading conditions (1) control (i.e., no cue) (2) high loading, and (3) low loading. Baseline vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) data was used to calculate a target 5% change in vGRF for the appropriate loading condition (i.e., high loading was +5% vGRF, low loading was -5% vGRF). The target for the load condition was displayed on a screen along with real-time vGRF values, prescribing changes in stride-to-stride peak vertical ground reaction forces of each limb. From time-series of stride intervals (i.e., duration), we analyzed the mean and standard deviation of stride-to-stride variability and, via detrended fluctuation analysis (i.e., DFA α), temporal persistence for each feedback condition. Both the high and low loading conditions exhibited a change toward more temporally persistent stride intervals (high loading α =0.92, low loading α = 0.98) than walking under the control condition (α = 0.78; high vs. control p = .026, low vs. control p = .001). Overall, these results indicate that altering lower extremity load changes the temporal persistence of the stride internal dynamics in ACLR individuals, demonstrating the implications of the design of gait training interventions and the influence feedback has on movement strategies. This study aims at investigating the dosimetric characteristics of a Varian aS1000 EPID, focusing on its continuous acquisition mode under the challenging conditions that can be met in stereotactic radiotherapy verification. An aS1000 EPID installed on a Varian TrueBeamSTx was irradiated with 6 and 10 MV unflattened and flattened photon beams. In order to avoid detector saturation, the source-to-detector distance (SDD) was set to 150 or 180cm depending on the dose rate. EPID image sets were acquired in continuous mode (CM) and also in the commonly used integrated mode (IM) for comparison, to evaluate dose linearity (including dose rate dependence), repeatability, reproducibility, stability, ghosting effect and field size dependence. CM response linearity was found to be within 0.8% of IM and independent of dose rate. find more Response repeatability was slightly better for IM and FF beams, being in all cases within 0.9%. Reproducibility was within 0.6% for both modes and all beam qualities. Response stability between continuous frames varied within 1% for dynamic and static irradiations and for all the beam qualities, showing its independence from these parameters. Ghosting effect was not significant, being comparable to signal variations between continuous frames (±1%). Field size dependence in both modes agreed within 1%. Previous studies found that a-priori expectancy does not affect attention bias toward spiders, as measured by detection of spider targets in a subsequent visual search array compared to detection of bird targets (i.e. neutral targets) that appeared equally often. In the present series of studies, target frequency was manipulated. Targets were preceded by a verbal cue stating the likelihood that a certain target would appear. The aim was to examine whether manipulation of expectancies toward either target affects attention bias. In Experiment 1, birds appeared more frequently than spiders. Among a representative sample of the student population, attention bias toward spiders was significantly reduced. Experiment 2 replicated these results with both low- and high-fearful participants. In Experiment 3, spiders appeared more frequently than birds. Attention bias was reduced among low- and high-fearful groups, but not as strongly as the reduction in Experiments 1 and 2. These results suggest that target salience plays a role in attention bias, in competition with expectancy. To our knowledge, this is the first study to show that varying expectancy can reduce attention bias, most importantly in high fear. Research consistently demonstrates a link between social anxiety and alcohol-related problems; however, the majority of work has been retrospective, and conducted with adults. Despite an extensive literature highlighting coping-related motives as an underlying mechanism, real-time work presents mixed findings, and no published research has examined an adolescent sample using experimental psychopathology techniques. The current study tested whether (1) history of social anxiety symptoms positively correlated with alcohol-related cognitions following laboratory-induced social stress, (2) state anxiety was positively correlated with alcohol-related cognitions, and (3) whether the nature of the stressor (performance versus rejection) impacted the strength of identified relations, in a sample of community-recruited adolescents reporting recent alcohol use. Participants (n=114; M =16.01; 64% girls) were randomly assigned to either a performance- or rejection-oriented task. Findings indicated that history of social anxiety symptoms was positively correlated with state anxiety elicited by both tasks.
