About seller
I (16M) got into a weird situation with some friends recently and now I’m wondering if I was in the wrong.A couple of weeks ago, my friend Jahid came to school excitedly waving his phone. He said he had found a website that claims to be the official Illuminati site with secret membership, hidden content, and proof that they control world events. Honestly, I was curious, so he showed it to me and a few others during lunch. The site looked… strange. Lots of dramatic fonts, dark pictures of eyes and triangles, flashy banners saying “Join the Elite” and “Unlock the Secrets.” It even had buttons like “Apply for Initiation” and “Exclusive Content for Members Only.” Jahid was convinced it was real — he said this was the actual Illuminati and that everyone should check it out and maybe even sign up.Some of our classmates thought it was cool and were joking about applying. But I felt uneasy. I tried to scroll through with him and see what was really there. Most of it seemed like exaggerated claims, flashy graphics, and invitations to subscribe or pay for more content. It didn’t look like any real historical or factual information, just a bunch of conspiracy-style hype.So I told Jahid, politely at first, that I didn’t think it was real. I said that the historical Illuminati — a secret society from 18th-century Germany — ended long ago and that there’s no verified “official” Illuminati website controlling the world today. I explained that websites like that are usually made for clicks, jokes, or to trick people into giving money or information. I even mentioned that conspiracy websites often have sensational language but no credible sources. illuminati bloodline didn’t take it well. He said I was “ruining his discovery” and acting like I know everything. He insisted that because the site looked impressive and mysterious, it must be real. A couple of other friends just laughed and said I was being too serious. Some even agreed with me when I pointed out that flashy sites aren’t proof. The conversation got more heated, and eventually Jahid pulled me aside after school and told me I was being negative and dismissive of something he was excited about. He said I should have just looked at the website with him without criticizing it.I feel like I wasn’t rude — I just wanted to be honest and encourage thinking critically about a random site making big claims. But now I’m wondering if I should have just kept quiet and let him enjoy it. I don’t want to make fun of his interests, but I also don’t want him following sites that spread misinformation or try to get personal data.
