Upregulation of circ-ATAD1 in CSCC cells decreased the expression levels of mature miR-218, but not that of premature miR-218. In addition, overexpression of circ-ATAD1 increased cell proliferation and decreased cell apoptosis, while overexpression of miR-218 decreased cell proliferation and increased cell apoptosis, and it also attenuated the effects of overexpression of circ-ATAD1 on cell proliferation. Recurrent implantation failure is an essential component of assisted reproductive technology. Also, miRNA-mediated gene expression impacts the implantation process, and the downregulation of some miRs, such as mmu-let-7a, improves this process. In the present study, we evaluated the effect of let-7a forced suppression on the mouse implantation rate. In total, 100 adult female mice and 10 adult male mice were included (Strain CD-1). We analysed the expression of let-7a and its potential mRNAs targets (Igf1, Il1a, Itgb3 and Tgfb1) in control, sham and antagomir-treated blastocysts using quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR). Biochemical analysis of amniotic fluid can be useful when suspecting Bartter syndrome or digestive atresia but in most of cases, no etiology of polyhydramnios is found because of the complex regulation of amniotic fluid. Aquaporins (AQP) are transmembrane channel proteins contributing to water transfers. Some of them are expressed in fetal membranes and placenta. Their expression has been shown to be disrupted in some pathological conditions such as maternal diabetes, often associated with polyhydramnios. AQP-1, 3 and 8 levels in amniotic fluid were retrospectively measured in patients suffering from polyhydramnios (n=21) from 23 weeks of gestation (WG). They were compared to the levels observed in control subjects (n=96) and their relationship with maternal factors and neonatal issues was analyzed. AQP-1, 3, 8 levels were physiologically fluctuating, AQP-1 levels always being the lowest and AQP-3 the highest, with a significant decrease at the end of pregnancy. AQPs/AFP ratios increased about 8 folds during pregnancy, their kinetic profiles reflecting physiological dynamic evolution of amniotic fluid volume. In polyhydramnios, AQP-3 level tended to be decreased whereas AQP-8 level was decreased from mid-gestation whatever the etiology of polyhydramnios. No significant relationship was found between AQPs levels and either the fetal prematurity degree or macrosomia. No specific pattern was observed in idiopathic polyhydramnios, limiting the interest of AQPs dosage in amniotic fluid in the management of those complicated pregnancies. This study evaluated the cost effectiveness of an intensive lifestyle modification (LSM) intervention delivered by peer educators for the prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in a young at-risk population in a low healthcare resource setting. The aim of this study was to evaluate the short-term and long-term cost effectiveness of an intensive lifestyle modification intervention for type 2 diabetes prevention in a young urban at-risk population in Sri Lanka. This was an economic evaluation using cost and outcome data from a randomized controlled trial. Searches were conducted in Medline, Embase, Econlit, Social Policy and Practice, and Health Management Information Consortium databases from inception to March 2020. Free-text Google search was also conducted to identify relevant grey literature. Only papers and reports discussing or evaluating the use of sandboxes in healthcare settings and published in English were included.
