A new method using blood pressure-to-height ratio for diagnosing elevated blood pressure/hypertension in children has been introduced recently. We aimed to compare blood pressure-to-height ratio (BPHR) and Body Mass Index (BMI) in predicting incidence of hypertension (HTN). The sample consisted of 1133 boys and 1154 girls aged 7-15. We used the following equations for BPHR systolic BPHR (SBPHR) = SBP (mm Hg)/height (cm) and diastolic BPHR (DBPHR) = DBP (mm Hg)/height (cm). In order to determine the accuracy of SBPHR, DBPHR and BMI as diagnostic tests for elevated blood pressure (elevated BP), we used the receiveroperating characteristic curve analyses. The area under the curve (AUC) values for BMI ranged from 0.625 to 0.723 with quite low sensitivity rates from 62% to 72.5% and specificities from 58.2% to 67.3% showing a modest ability to identify children with elevated BP and HTN. On the contrary, BPHR showed a great predictive ability to identify elevated BP and HTN with AUC values of 0.836 to 0.949 for SBP and from 0.777 to 0.904 for DBP. Furthermore, the sensitivity ranged from 78.5% to 95.7%, and the specificity from 73.9% to 87.6%. the current study showed that BPHR is an accurate index for detecting elevated BP and HTN in children aged 7 to 15 years and can be used for early screening.the current study showed that BPHR is an accurate index for detecting elevated BP and HTN in children aged 7 to 15 years and can be used for early screening.The diversity of cultural Actinobacteria in two types of Algerian Sahara environments, including saline environments and date palms rhizosphere, was investigated. In this study, a total of 40 strains of actinomycetes was isolated from different soil samples, using a rehydration and centrifugation method. Molecular identification, based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, revealed that these isolates were affiliated to six clusters corresponding to eight genera, including Streptomyces, Nocardiopsis, Saccharopolyspora, Actinomadura, Actinocorallia, Micromonospora, Couchioplanes, and Planomonospora. A taxonomic analysis, based on the morphological, physiological, biochemical, and molecular investigation, of selected strains, which belong to the rare Actinobacteria, was undertaken. mTOR inhibitor Four strains (CG3, A111, A93, and A79) were found to form distinct phyletic lines and represent new actinobacterial taxa. RD registries enable data sharing and promotion of research and audits, often in an international setting, with the overall aim of improving patient care. RD registries also have a fundamental role in supporting the work of clinical networks such as the European Reference Networks (ERNs) for rare diseases. With the recent expansion of RD registries, it has become even more essential to outline standards of good practice in relation to governance, infrastructure, documentation, training, audits and adopting the Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) data principles to maintain registries of high quality. For the purpose of this paper, we highlight vital aspects of data access and data governance policies for RD registries, using the European Registries for Rare Endocrine Conditions (EuRRECa) as an example of a project that aims to promote good standards of practice for improving the quality of utilization of RD registries.Recently, studies that analyze emotions based on physiological signals, such as electroencephalogram (EEG), by applying a deep learning algorithm have been actively conducted. However, the study of sequence modeling considering the change of emotional signals over time has not been fully investigated. To consider long-term interaction of emotion, in this study, we propose a long short-term memory network to consider changes in emotion over time and apply an attention mechanism to assign weights to the emotional states appearing at specific moments based on the peak-end rule in psychology. We used 32-channel EEG data from the DEAP database. Two-level (low and high) and three-level (low, middle, and high) classification experiments were performed on the valence and arousal emotion models. The results show accuracies of 90.1% and 87.9% using the two-level classification for the valence and arousal models with four-fold cross validation, respectively. In the case of the three-level classification, these values were obtained as 83.5% and 82.6%, respectively. Additional experiments were conducted using a network combining a convolutional neural network (CNN) submodule with the proposed model. The obtained results showed accuracies of 90.1% and 88.3% in the case of the two-level classification and 86.9% and 84.1% in the case of the three-level classification for the valence and arousal models with four-fold cross validation, respectively. In 10-fold cross validation, there were 91.8% for valence and 91.6% for arousal accuracy, respectively.Epidemiological studies on micronutrient consumption have reported protective associations in the incidence and/or progression of various cancer types. Supplementation with some of these micronutrients has been analyzed, showing chemoprotection, low toxicity, antiproliferation, and the ability to modify epigenetic signatures in various cancer models. This review investigates the reported effects of micronutrient intake or supplementation in breast cancer progression. A PubMed search was conducted with the keywords "micronutrients breast cancer progression", and the results were analyzed. The selected micronutrients were vitamins (C, D, and E), folic acid, metals (Cu, Fe, Se, and Zn), fatty acids, polyphenols, and iodine. The majority of in vitro models showed antiproliferative, cell-cycle arrest, and antimetastatic effects for almost all the micronutrients analyzed, but these effects do not reflect animal or human studies. Only one clinical trial with vitamin D and one pilot study with molecular iodine showed favorable overall survival and disease-free interval.
