Light-induced charge transfer (CT) reactions in Drosophila CRY (dCRY) are investigated by state-of-the-art simulations that reveal a complex, multi-redox site nature of CT dynamics on the microscopic level. The simulations consider redox-active chromophores of the tryptophan triad (Trp triad) and further account for pathways mediated by W314 and W422 residues proximate to the C-terminal tail (CTT), thus avoiding a pre-bias to specific W-mediated CT pathways. The conducted dissipative quantum dynamics simulations employ microscopically derived model Hamiltonians and display complex and ultrafast CT dynamics on the picosecond timescale, subtly balanced by the electrostatic environment of dCRY. In silicio point mutations provide a microscopic basis for rationalizing particular CT directionality and demonstrate the degree of electrostatic control realized by a discrete set of charged amino acid residues. The predicted participation of CT states in proximity to the CTT relates the directionality of CT reactions to the spatial vicinity of a linear interaction motif. However, two-thirds of health providers are unaware of patients' health literacy. Thus, the aim of the study is to investigate factors related to Chinese-speaking nurses' knowledge and experience of health literacy. Methods This cross-sectional study used a web-based survey. A total of 430 nurses were recruited by stratified sampling from different levels of hospitals and community health centers in Taiwan. Primary outcome measure by Health Literacy Knowledge and Experience. Results The participants' overall health literacy knowledge was limited; the correct responses were 51%. The education level of the participants, job category, working years, and having attended in-service patient education programs were the predictors of knowledge of health literacy (p less then 0.05); Institute, job category, and having attended in-service patient education programs were the predictors of experience of health literacy (p less then 0.01). Conclusions Participants' education levels and In-service patient education programs are beneficial factors to improve nurses' knowledge of health literacy. Furthermore, nursing education should emphasize on how to identify individuals' health literacy and using readable healthcare materials to improve health education.Introduction 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) is found in circulating blood and is regarded as an estimate of vitamin D status. Low circulating 25(OH)D levels are associated with a high body mass index (BMI), increased weight and the increased development of adipose tissue. This study aimed to determine the relationship between low 25(OH)D and cardio-metabolic risk factors among Ellisras young adults. Materials and methods This is a cross-sectional study that took place in a rural area at Ellisras in Limpopo Province South Africa. The study included 631 young adults (327 females and 304 males) aged between 20 and 29 years. Anthropometric measurements including height, weight and waist circumference were measured following standard procedures. Blood pressure, pulse pressure and blood parameters including fasting plasma glucose, total cholesterol and triglycerides were also measured. Correlations and linear regression were performed to determine the relationship between low 25(OH)D and cardio-metabolic risk factors. Results Descriptive statistics showed significant (p less then 0.05) mean difference of LDL, HDL and blood pressure between males and females. There was a significant association between low 25(OH)D and WC (p = 0.010) based on Spearman correlation. There was no association found between low 25(OH)D and HDL in all models (B ranges from 0.072 to 0.075). There was also no association found between low 25(OH)D and systolic blood pressure (SBP) in all models (B ranges from -0.009 to -0.024). Conclusion Low 25(OH)D was correlated with WC, and therefore with adiposity. Knowledge of the associations between 25(OH)D deficiency and cardio-metabolic risk before the development of the disease is therefore important to establish whether 25(OH)D supplementation can be used for the prevention of these conditions. Educational programmes should be implemented to educate the communities and the nation at large on how to prevent 25(OH)D deficiency.In order to achieve a highly autonomous and reliable navigation system for aerial vehicles that involves the spectral redshift navigation system (SRS), the inertial navigation (INS)/spectral redshift navigation (SRS)/celestial navigation (CNS) integrated system is designed and the spectral-redshift-based velocity measurement equation in the INS/SRS/CNS system is derived. Furthermore, a new chi-square test-based robust Kalman filter (CSTRKF) is also proposed in order to improve the robustness of the INS/SRS/CNS navigation system. In the CSTRKF, the chi-square test (CST) not only detects measurements with outliers and in non-Gaussian distributions, but also estimates the statistical characteristics of measurement noise. Finally, the results of our simulations indicate that the INS/SRS/CNS integrated navigation system with the CSTRKF possesses strong robustness and high reliability.
