This study demonstrated the feasibility of anaerobic ammonia oxidation (anammox) served as tertiary nitrogen removal process. An upflow fixed-bed reactor (UFBR) pre-inoculated with anammox bacteria (AnAOB) followed an anoxic/oxic (A/O) reactor treating magnetic-coagulation pretreated municipal wastewater. When bypassing 15% of influent into UFBR, UFBR removed 5.37 mg-TN/L contributing to 23.4% on total TN removal, in which the combination of partial nitritation and partial denitrification with anammox was main nitrogen removal pathway. Relatively low concentrations of NH4+-N and anaerobic environment promoted the growth of ammonia oxidizing archaea (AOA) in the inner-layer of biofilm in UFBR. The cooperation of AOA and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) with AnAOB was achieved, with AOA, AOB, and AnAOB abundances of 0.01-0.32%, 0.25-0.44%, and 0.77-2.18% on the biofilm, respectively. Metagenomic analysis found that although AOB was the main NH4+-N oxidizer, archaeal amo gene on biofilm increased threefold during 90 days' treatment.Biohydrogen production in Microbial Electrolysis Cell (MEC) had inspired the researchers to overcome the challenges associated towards sustainability. Hence, in this study, the performance of MEC was investigated with a sugar industry effluent (COD 4200 ± 20 mg/L) with graphite anode and modified Nickel foam (NF) cathode. Nickel molybdate (NiMoO4) coated NF achieved a higher hydrogen production rate 0.12 ± 0.01 L.L-1D-1 as compared to control under favorable conditions. Electrochemical characterizations demonstrated that the improved catalytic activity of novel nanocatalyst with lower impedance favoring faster hydrogen evolution kinetics. The MEC with the novel catalyst performed with 58.2% coloumbic efficiency, 20.36% cathodic hydrogen recovery, 11.96% overall hydrogen recovery and 54.38% COD removal efficiency for a 250 mL substrate during 5 days' batch cycle. The aim of this study was to develop a new technique to bypass these limitations and allow the imaging of fed ticks in their natural state. To accomplish this, adult Ixodes ricinus females were allowed to engorge in vitro on blood supplemented with PEGylated gold nanoparticles (PEG-AuNPs). In total, 73/120 females divided into 6 groups engorged on blood enriched with 0.07-2.16 mg PEG-AuNPs per ml of blood. No toxic effect was observed for any of the tested groups compared to the control group, in which 12/20 females engorged on clear blood. The ticks were scanned on a Bruker micro-CT SkyScan 1276. The mean radiodensity of the examined ticks exceeded 0 Hounsfield Units only in the case of the two groups with the highest concentration. The best contrast was observed in ticks engorged on blood with the highest tested concentration of 2.16 mg/mL PEG-AuNPs. In these ticks, the midgut and rectal sac were clearly visible. Also, the midgut lumen volume was computed from segmented image data. The reduction in midgut volume was documented during the egg development process. According to this pilot study, micro-CT of ticks engorged on blood supplemented with contrasting agents in vitro may reveal additional information regarding the engorged ticks' anatomy. Gait is considered to be the most important determinant of functional independence in activities of daily living. The challenges faced by stroke survivors in India differ from the western population due to economic, cultural, and geographical factors and this, in turn, may influence the choice of intervention. Hence, there is a need to understand the current gait training trends for stroke survivors in low resource settings like India. To systematically review the literature on interventional strategies for improving gait among stroke survivors in India. Six databases were searched to identify RCTs delivering gait training to stroke survivors having some gait deficits in terms of speed or any other kinematic parameters. Studies of the English language from India were included. Two independent reviewers screened, extracted data, and assessed the study quality. A descriptive synthesis was undertaken and the data was summarized. Of 2112 potentially relevant articles, 12 studies with a total of 412 particamong stroke survivors should be improvised in low resource settings. This review can be a source of recommendation in giving effective strategies for clinical practice.Reviews addressing gait practices in developing countries for people with stroke are scarce. The present review would assist physiotherapists in developing countries to utilize evidence-based criteria for the selection of gait training approaches post-stroke. Due to the environmental and contextual demands, the effect of interventions for recovery among stroke survivors should be improvised in low resource settings. This review can be a source of recommendation in giving effective strategies for clinical practice.
