The objective of this systematic review is to evaluate the effectiveness of education-based interventions to decrease patient anxiety during the treatment and management of a chronic disease. Anxiety is a major contributor to poor patient outcomes in self-managed chronic disease. Health care manage anxiety prior or during education can adversely affect patient outcomes. By identifying interventions that effectively decrease anxiety, clinicians may be able to consider and implement strategies as standard practice within the education-based programs. The proposed systematic review will consider studies reporting the effectiveness of any intervention aimed at decreasing participant anxiety prior to a medical procedure or prior to undertaking an education-based program to address a technical aspect of self-management in a health care setting. It will consider studies whose participants are 18 years and older and who are diagnosed with a chronic disease. The systematic review aims to find published and unpublished studies in English from 1972 onward. Databases to be searched included MEDLINE, CINAHL, Embase, ERIC, Mosby's index, Cochrane Library, and Scopus. Studies will be reviewed and data extracted by two independent reviewers. This scoping review aims to synthesize existing evidence on dietary changes and food security status of international students who attend tertiary education facilities. Factors affecting nutrition and health, academic and psychological outcomes will also be examined. More and more students choose to complete higher education in a foreign country, and these international students often have to establish new dietary habits in an unfamiliar culture and food environment. Nutritional status and food insecurity for college students have been frequently discussed, but similar issues for international students receive less attention. Quantitative and qualitative studies that investigate international students within tertiary education institutions in any country will be considered for inclusion. Eligible studies should include changes in dietary behaviors and food patterns, with associated factors, after students arrive in the host country. Studies that assess food insecurity among international students will aharted and summarized. This review aims to map mental health first aid programs, and identify the characteristics and participants of such programs and the contexts of their implementation. Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or undergoing a mental health crisis. The first aid is provided until professional help is accessed or the crisis is resolved. This scoping review will address programs that provide basic mental health first aid skills, with no exclusion criteria in terms of participants or contexts. Nursing education plays an important role in preparing students to provide quality care to older adults. Recent reports suggest that nursing programs across the globe are championing the integration of content on the care of older adults into their curricula as well as recognizing the value of clinical placements that focus exclusively on care for older adults, such as in residential aged care facilities. Student experiences in residential aged care facilities can play a significant role in helping shape professional identity as well as how the setting is viewed. Student interactions with nursing faculty and staff in the residential care learning environment are both recognized as being influential in this process. This review seeks to explore faculty and staff experiences and perceptions of nursing student placements in such facilities. This review will consider qualitative studies that address the experiences and perceptions of faculty and staff nurses who work with nursing students in residential aged care facilities. Studies published in English and from 1995 onward will be sought. Two reviewers will independently appraise studies and extract qualitative data using the JBI standardized critical appraisal and extraction instruments.
