bsence of visual guidance.Inertial motions may be defined in terms of acceleration and jerk, the time-derivative of acceleration. We investigated the relative contributions of these characteristics to the perceived intensity of motions. Participants were seated on a high-fidelity motion platform, and presented with 25 above-threshold 1 s forward (surge) motions that had acceleration values ranging between 0.5 and 2.5 [Formula see text] and jerks between 20 and 60 [Formula see text], in five steps each. Participants performed two tasks a magnitude estimation task, where they provided subjective ratings of motion intensity for each motion, and a two-interval forced choice task, where they provided judgments on which motion of a pair was more intense, for all possible combinations of the above motion profiles. Analysis of the data shows that responses on both tasks may be explained by a single model, and that this model should include acceleration only. The finding that perceived motion intensity depends on acceleration only appears inconsistent with previous findings. We show that this discrepancy can be explained by considering the frequency content of the motions, and demonstrate that a linear time-invariant systems model of the otoliths and subsequent processing can account for the present data as well as for previous findings.Cross-enterprise electronic patient records are a key element in the design of interoperable medical care networks and process chains. Cross-institutional pathways for telemedicine, however, can be mapped both within and across sectoral boundaries via automated process chains using the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) defined integration profile CrossEnterprise Document Sharing (XDS) and associated integration profiles. The provision of medical documents in a cross-institutional patient record outside of defined medical pathways requires differentiated authorization management. In this respect, consent documents according to the IHE APPC (Advanced Patient Privacy Consents) profile enable the documentation of the patient's consent, including information about planned authorized people, document types, period and type of document access allowed. Providing access control to medical documentation by the patients themselves is an essential part of the required focusing of medical services on patients. New interoperability standards optimized for use on mobile devices, such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), will enable simplified delivery of patient-centered health records and other medical services on mobile platforms in the future.This study revealed the change in the paravertebral muscles in patients with osteoporotic vertebral fracture. This work focuses on the effect of cold acclimation of D. antarctica on the accumulation of apoplastic proteins with antifreeze activity. Antifreeze proteins (AFPs) present in apoplastic extracts were purified by ice affinity purification, and their identity was determined by protein sequencing. After 22 days of cold acclimation at 4°C, between 12 and 16 days was achieved to obtain the highest content of apoplastic proteins with antifreeze activity. Sequencing indicated a protein identification probability over the 95%. Percentage coverage was 74% with D. antarctica ice recrystallization inhibition protein 1 (DaIRIP1) and 55% with D. antarctica ice recrystallization inhibition protein 3 (DaIRIP3). The acclimation of D. antarctica has proven to be relevant to improving the yield of apoplastic proteins, and resulting in an increase in the antifreeze activity of these extracts. Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), which is modifiable by physical activity, is a strong independent predictor of cardiometabolic health. However, the relationship between CRF and cardiometabolic health in veterans with PTSD is unknown. Thus, this study aimed to explore the cross-sectional relationships among CRF, indices of cardiometabolic health (ie, HbA1c, blood lipids, blood pressure, waist-hip ratio, and body mass index), and PTSD severity in veterans with PTSD.
